iPod headphones

I'm looking for a nice pair of in-ear headphones for my iPod. Since a lot of what I listen to these days on the go are spoken-word podcasts, I'm not necessarily looking for the absolute best sound reproduction (as long as it's nothing too tinny). But I do want a pair that have a good seal with the ear canal for sound isolation, and are fairly hardy - my original iPod ear buds' rubber is falling off, and the left earphone on my Philips replacement set has gone kaput. Oh, and whose cord doesn't tangle too often! Anyone have experience with the Sennheiser CX300s or the Shure SE110s?

I've heard that Creative's EP630 (which I'm using right now) shares an OEM with the Sennheiser CX300. I can't compare them soundwise, but build quality definitely seems similar at a fraction of the cost.

And earphone obsession leads down the path to madness, and an empty wallet.

I'm considering both of them too and can't decide! Whichever you choose, Amazon.com sells them at a much lower price than the local Apple store. Or try pricegrabber.com :)

I just bought a Sennheiser foldable headphone. The in-ear headphones seem bad for our ears. I don't know whether it's proven.

Both are actually quite good, though I have a preference for Sennheiser. In any case, I am more of a headphones kid of guy. I own the Sennheiser HD 555 and they sound awesome. But they are open-ear, so not for your everyday MRT ride. I think the Senn HD280 Pro has rave reviews as well. Those are closed ears and apparently seal the sound well without resorting to active noise cancellation.

Dog blogs, plus the I look like my dog "contest"

I've just discovered Puptastic , another dog blog, and learnt the following disturbing facts: 1. The dog most likely to eat you when you're dead is the Dachshund. Beware the hot dog! 2. Some people look a lot like their dogs . A lot. But only if they own pedigrees . Actually, I've heard about this study for a long time - it made its rounds on the Net a while back. It's a selection thing. Anyway, the post had a link to pictures of what they claimed was a "I Look Like My Dog" contest (urban legend alert - I think it's more likely to be just a series of regular Cesar ads), including this one: Update: some quick Googling shows that the idea that this is a dog-resemblance contest is almost certainly not true.
