Blogs in business

More stuff on blogging at work, this time from Fortune. That adds to the coverage from the New York Times and the Harvard Business Review. Seems like the use of blogs in enterprise is about to reach a tipping point. Here's Jonathan Schwarz, president/COO of Sun:
Blogs are no more mandated at Sun than e-mail. But I have a hard time seeing how a manager can be effective without both.
As I've noted before, one of the interesting developments will be how firms and organisations respond to this blurring of lines between work and private life and between the public face of a company and private opinions? Blogging is hardly even known in Singapore by those in business - and those who do know about it often see it as kiddie-diaryland - and I wonder how a society that's somewhat more squeamish about revealing private life will adapt to it.
