Xiaxue hacked

One of the more well-known Singaporean bloggers, Xiaxue, just had her Blogger account hacked, and over 3000 blog posts deleted. That's, to put it mildly, a shitty thing to do. It's probably even criminal. I know she's controversial and that some people don't like her tone of voice - but to hack into an account and actually delete years of effort and leave a horrible message below? That's disgusting.

Fortunately, Blogger backs up everything on Blogspot (I think they backup everything, full stop, since when you publish it goes through their servers), so it seems she'll get everything back. But this is a good moment to remind people to back up their blogs.

Yah, in an emotional fit once, I deleted my blog. After a few emails with the tech support guy from blogger, I got everything back.

They even entertain PMS. Heh. :)

This New York Times article on 50 Cent's life in the sleepy suburb of Farmington, Conn. , is quite wry - But a cook at China Palace said Mr. Jackson could save 10 percent on any order over $30... Ah, the privileges of fame... 10% off Chinese takeout! For the party, Mr. Jackson ordered more than $5,000 worth of liquor, including "a lot of Baccardi," according to the owner of a Farmington liquor store who spoke on the condition of anonymity "to protect his privacy." Sipping Bacardi (ooh, caught a Times misspelling) like it's his birthday. How anonymous could a liquor store owner in a suburban town be?
